Know Ye All People by These Presents Greetings:
WHEREAS, Zyler Jay Henry was born with cyanosis congenital heart disease as well as hererotaxy syndrome; his anatomy is one that medical professional have never seen before; and Zyler’s first surgery took place when he was only seventeen days old; and
WHEREAS, at nine months, Zyler underwent surgery that had never been done before; and though several leading hospitals said it could not be done, it was actually performed locally at Arkansas Children’s Hospital; and
WHEREAS, Zyler’s second surgery was open heart surgery done when he was nine months old, which has been followed by other procedures; and
WHEREAS, at the age of five, Zyler has endured more medical procedures than many people experience in their entire lifetime, but instead of withdrawing, Zyler is active in the community to raise awareness about congenital heart disease; and
WHEREAS, Zyler has made appearances on the news and radio stations, on social media and in print publications; this past February he was also on the cover of a magazine for National Heart Month; and
WHEREAS, Zyler is also a ambassador for Arkansas Children’s Hospital and makes appearances for them to raise funds and awareness about congenital heart disease, which affects one in every 100 children; and
WHEREAS, he is an active five year old who loves basketball and playing with his siblings; and
WHEREAS, Zyler and his family have requested June 16 be set aside as a day to raise awareness, conduct wellness and blood pressure checks, offer CPR training, and ensure more people learn about heart disease and heart health, as well as other health-related issues.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Frank Scott, Jr., Mayor of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, do hereby proclaim May 27, 2022, as
